Sardar Sayab Khalid

Sardar Sayab Khalid (born 26 March 1940 in Chirroti village P.O. Paniola Poonch District, Azad Kashmir) is a Pakistani politician serving in the 24-member cabinet of Prime Minister Attique Ahmed Khan of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK). He was the Speaker of AJK Legislative Assembly from 24 July 2001 through 24 July 2006.[1] He had his basic education at Chirroti and F.A from Rawalakot College and obtained a B.A from Mirpur College.

He completed his law degree from the University of Peshawar and he went on to join the All Jammu & Kashmir Muslim Conference in 1964 as a student. Sardar Sayab Khalid was elected Member of Legislative Assembly in 1986 on Special seat and again in 1991. From 1991-96 he served as Minister of Law, Serivers, and Electricity.

In the elections of 2001 he won from Sardar Khalid Ibriam S/o Sardar Muhammad Ibriam Khan who was President of AJK that time. He was nominated by Sardar Abdul Quyyum Khan as a Speaker Of the Legislative Assembly. He represented the Kashmiris in the OIC Conference held in June 2005 in Yemen. Once again he won by election from Rawalakot in 2009 after Sardar Khalid Ibrahim resigned. He currently holds the portfolio of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.[2] He visited different countries lobbying for the Kashmir Issue.
